The Harlem F.U.N.D. is a non-profit, community based organization. It was founded in 2016 by Life Coach/Credible Messenger C. Hassan Mayfield, its President and Executive Director. The word “F.U.N.D.” is an acronym that stands for: FAMILIES UNITED/NOT DIVIDED. It began as a Collective; composed of local residents, small business owners, community activists, and passionate volunteers within Harlem, who took the initiative to provide residents with much-needed support in the form of donations, charity events, and relevant workshops to address the needs of those most underserved.

As an organized body, The FUND came together in 2017 to organize its now Annual Thanksgiving Day Food Drive. This charity event brought dozens of community-based volunteers together to serve hundreds of homeless and underfed residents of Harlem with warm, homecooked meals, at the historic Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Harlem State Office Building. From this momentous event, The Harlem FUND moved forward, with SELF-DEVELOPMENT and UNITY as its Guiding Principles.  Although it began in Harlem, The FUND has spread its reach to assist families not only throughout the five boroughs of New York City but in other states as well.

It currently provides "Life-Enhancing" resources to underserved members of the community, by conducting outreach measures to those most in need. This is carried out in the form of donations, charity events, relevant personal development workshops, and socio-economic programs that address the important issues and problem areas adversely affecting these communities. As a general practice, The Harlem FUND also strives to create and develop collaborative efforts with other socially-responsible institutions and organizations, to foster cooperative services to all underserved families.
